Cable Telephone is a digital phone service that functions as traditional telephone service does.  Plus with Cable Telephone you get unlimited long distance calling within the United States, plus all of the calling features included in one low monthly rate.

Can I keep my current phone number with Cable Telephone?

Yes.  If your local number is able to transfer to a new carrier, you will be able to keep your current phone number.

Do I need to buy any special equipment?

No.  You can use the telephones you currently have.  During your installation, the MTC Technician will come to your home and set up everything for you.

How many phones can I connect to Cable Telephone?

Up to 5 phones can be connected.  Cable Telephone will work will almost all existing telephone equipment (except for rotary phones), so there is no additional equipment to buy.

Can I connect a fax machine or alarm system to the Cable Telephone system?

Yes.  Cable Telephone is compatible with most newer fax machines and security alarm systems.  It is advised to contact your alarm system provider to verify compatibility and any specific requirements.

How do I make long distance or International calls?

There are no changes to making any long distance or International calls.  However, long distance within the United States is included in the Cable Telephone service.  For International calling rates, please click HERE.

Can I use a calling card for International calls?

Yes, you can still use a calling card for International calls.

Can I call 911?

Yes, Cable Telephone supports 911 functionality.

What if there is a power failure?

Your MTC Cable Telephone Service is designed to continue to work for up to 8 hours during commercial power outages.  However, you will need a wired telephone for service, as most cordless telephones do not function during power failures.

Can I use my internet and talk on the phone at the same time?

Yes.  The MTC Modem allows you access to the internet and talk on the phone at the same time.
