The Margaretville Telephone Company (MTC) has a long history of providing reliable telecommunications services to residents and businesses located throughout the rural Central Catskills Region. Established in 1916, MTC has transitioned from a business offering basic telephone service to 16 dairy-farms, into a company providing the latest technology in Internet, TV, Landline, and Mobile Phone services for residential and commercial applications to over 9000 customers throughout portions of Delaware, Greene, Schoharie, and Ulster Counties. MTC is a 100% Employee-Owned company and founding partner in the Delaware County Broadband Initiative (DCBI), a partnership with the Delhi Telephone Company and Delaware County Electric Cooperative that worked with Empire State Development to provide over 2,000 miles of fiber network on top of our existing Cable and Copper footprint. 

 

Throughout the years, MTC has strived to provide excellence in customer service & support, foster lasting business relationships, and expand investments back into our communities. In 2021, MTC transitioned to a 100% employee-owned company further strengthening the dedication to customer service, community involvement, and benefits of local ownership. This business structure fuels our mission to sustain the Catskills Way of Life by keeping profits local, fueling economic growth, and sustaining this great area we call home!
