Copyright Infringement Liability Act 

 

In accordance with the Online Copyright Infringement Liability Limitation Act (the "Act"), 17 USC § 512(3), Margaretville Telephone Company (MTC) has filed with the United States Copyright Office the necessary designated agent information to facilitate notice to MTC of alleged online copyright infringement on MTC network.

Repeat Infringement Policy Notice:

Margaretville Telephone Company (MTC) complies with the Online Copyright Infringement Liability Limitation Act of 1998.  As required by the Act, we have adopted a policy to terminate services to account holders or subscribers who repeatedly infringe copyrights.  In the event that we receive a determination that any subscriber or account holder has infringed another’s copyright through the use of our system or network, we reserve the right to terminate service to that subscriber or account holder after receiving notice of any further copyright infringement by that subscriber or account holder.  

 

MTC accommodates and does not interfere with standard technical measures to identify and protect copyrighted works, subject to the limitations of the Act.  

 

Repeat Infringer Policy


Margaretville Telephone Company (MTC) complies with the Online Copyright Infringement Liability Limitation Act of 1998 (“Act”). As required by the Act, we have adopted a policy to address broadband accounts involved in repeated copyright infringement. Our repeat infringer policy follows:

First notice of infringement results in contact to account holder with a warning and request for content removal.

 

If we receive more than 10 copyright infringement notices within a 60-day period regarding a broadband account, we will suspend that broadband account’s service for 60 days;  

 

If we receive another copyright infringement notice regarding that same broadband account within 60 days of service suspension, we will terminate that broadband account’s service for 3 months; and,

 

If we receive another copyright infringement notice regarding that same broadband account, we will permanently terminate service to that broadband account.
