Lifeline Discount

Lifeline service is intended to assist in making telephone service affordable for all residential customers.

In order to be eligible for the discount, the applicant must set income criteria.

In New York State, individuals must be income eligible to receive assistance through one of the following programs:

  • Medicaid
  • Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
  • Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
  • Federal Public Housing Assistance
  • National School Lunch Program's free lunch program
  • Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
  • Veterans Disability Pension
  • Veterans Surviving Spouse Pension

Apply for the Lifeline Discount

1. Apply for Authorization

To apply for the Lifeline Discount, please first go through the authorization process at the National Verifier Application Site.

2. Fill Out MTC Application

After you receive a qualified authorization code from National Verifier, please fill out our Lifeline Application.

3. Send Application to Us

After completing the Lifeline Application, email or mail it to MTC at the following address:
